In this guide, I'll walk you through the steps of authenticating your sending domain, which involves adding SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to your domain via Namecheap.
With recent updates from email providers such as Gmail and Yahoo, you will only be allowed to send email campaigns effectively if these steps are addressed; thus, this step is now mandatory. By completing it, you'll enhance your email deliverability and protect your domain from unauthorized use.
For those who own a domain on Namecheap and wish to authenticate their domain with Mailvio:
This is a detailed, step-by-step guide to simplify this process and make it as easy as possible, particularly for beginners.
There are two different methods for authenticating your sending domain from Namecheap. The first one gives you the flexibility to verify the sender's domain with Mailvio manually.
The easiest method is to use our sender verification tool.
Please refer to the detailed article on how to authenticate your sender domain with Namecheap: Use the Mailvio sender verification tool for Namecheap to get it done faster :
If you still want to use the manual method, then you can go through this article and do it via Namecheap's manual DNS manager
Now, let’s begin with a step-by-step process for manually authenticating your sending domain through Namecheap:
Step 1: Log in to your Mailvio account
Step 2: From the Dashboard, click on the profile icon in the top right corner
Step 3: It will reveal a drop-down menu; select "Integrations" from the available options
Step 4: Once in the Integrations section, click "My Domains"
Step 5: Click “Add & Verify Domain” and enter the email address associated with the domain you verify.
Step 6: Verify Your Sending Domain (You will receive the email at the address you have provided)
Before adding the SPF and DKIM records, ensure that your sending domain has been verified. Once the sending domain has been verified, you can proceed to the next step.
Step 7: Click on the "Authenticate" button to access the SPF and DKIM records
Step 8: Log into your Namecheap account or access your domain settings.
Step 9: Look for an option where you can locate all your domain names and add DNS records.
Step 10: Click on the "Manage" for the domain you are looking forward to update the DNS.
Step 11: Click on “Add New Record” to create a CNAME record.
Step 12: Host: Copy the host value provided in the authentication records. Note: For Namecheap, when adding records, you need not include your domain because your DNS provider automatically includes it. For example, If the record you're adding starts with "MP1._DOMAINKEY.YOURDOMAIN.COM," it should be entered as "MP1._DOMAINKEY."
Step 13: Value: Paste the value provided in the authentication records.
Step 14: TTL (Time to live): Set the lowest value possible or choose “Automatic”.
Step 15: Save the new CNAME record.
Step 16: Repeat the same steps for adding the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record.
Note: For the SPF Record, you cannot have more than one SPF record for a top-level domain.
Step 17: Once you have added all necessary records, click "Authenticate” to allow DNS to propagate the changes.
Step 18: While DNS is propagating, you can set up the tracking domain for any subdomains you have.
Step 19: Add your tracking domain, for example, tracking.mailvio.com. Essentially, you can choose any subdomain name you want to use.
Step 20: Copy the CNAME Value and Name.
Step 21: Add it to your record, and then click "Save." At this point, you need to wait for the authentication process to complete.
Note: You can give any name to those CNAME, for example, "tracking."
Step 22: Repeat the same steps for CDN domains as well. Add your subdomain, copy the CNAME, and add it to your raecord, then click "Continue."
Step 23: Click "Authenticate" and give it some time to propagate.
Step 24: Apply these same steps to all other subdomains you may want to add. Once DNS propagation is complete for all your domains and subdomains, the process is complete
